|Terms and Conditions

  1. Prices are for the whole house except where stated as per room, and include Full English breakfast and all taxes.
  2. For a whole house booking, we do take children, and can accommodate three extra children in small beds in the rooms. We have a travel cot. We don'tallow children under 10 to sleep unaccompanied in the rooms- they have low window sills. For individual bookings, please call and ask. We take children in our ground floor room.
  3. We do take small well-behaved dogs (with their own bedding) with whole house bookings. We charge £10 per room, as we have to deep clean afterwards. For individual bookings, please call and ask- we usually take dogs in our ground floor room if it is free, at a charge of £10. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, and cannot be left alone in the bedroom- they need to be put in the car during meals. And,please, they should not do their business in our gardens. We have lost a whoile lawn that way.
  4. We accept bookings by by phone. All bookings are confirmed by us by e- mail or by letter. Bookings must be secured by a credit or debit card. We take most varieties except American Express (sorry). We will validate your card

    Where you cannot secure by debit or credit card, we will take a 50% deposit by cheque or bankers draft.

    We do reserve the right to refuse bookings. This can occur occasionally, for instance in the case of an unforeseen closure to a room.
  5. Please note that alcohol is not permitted to be brought into the bedrooms, except by prior arrangement. We will charge corkage at £15 per bottle if alcohol is consumed without permission.
  6. For group bookings, we take a deposit of 25% of the room cost on booking. The remainder of the room cost becomes payable six weeks prior to arrival. Thereafter, if you cancel, we'll attempt to re-let the rooms to another group, but if we can't do so will will not refund your payment. We always advise you to take out travel insurance. The remainder, for food and incidentals, is payable on departure. We are happy to supply an invoice, payable on 30 days, to limited businesses.
  7. Individual room bookings: Individual bookings must be secured by credit card. We don't take any payment up front. If you cancel your reservation 20 days before the date of arrival, no charge will be taken from your credit card. Afrter that, we'll deduct 100% of the room or package cost. We take date of arrival from midnight on the day before. That means, for example, if you have a booking which starts on Saturday , you need to cancel by midnight 20 days before. If you think you might need to cancel, please check your travel insurance. We always make a charge, I'm afraid, within the cancellation period, as we have in effect lost that revenue. Delaying your stay is not an option, as we have still lost out on selling the room for that date. Please note that, even if you have a long stay where some of the days are outside the 20 day period, we will still charge for the entire stay.
  8. If the cancellation is after the 20 day period specified above, i.e. less than 20 days before midnight on the date prior to arrival, then 100% of the total fee will be charged. We do try to re-let the room on your behelf, in which case we refund some of your room charges.
  9. Please also note all cancellations or modifications must be made in writing, either by fax or email. Cancellations over the phone will not be accepted.

    Modifications to bookings on the same dates are permitted where they do not reduce the original booking total charge. If a reduction is required less than 20 days before arrival, then up to 100% of the lost room revenue will be charged.
  10. Check in time is any time after 16:00pm, and by 23.00 p.m. latest. Rooms are not usually ready before 3 p.m. Please note that on many days, if we don't have folk staying over, we may close the house and go out until 3 p.m, so please ring if you need to arrive early. If we are open, but your room is not ready, we can offer to hold luggage at the hotel, and you can rest in the guest lounge. Check out time on the date of departure is 11:00am. Late departures can be permitted by arrangement, provided another guest booking is not required for the room.
  11. You are liable for any damage to the room beyond normal wear and tear or small accidents and breakages. In particular, we charge caused by food and drink spillage,because we ask you not to consume them in the room, and so we will charge for cleaning or replacement. Partying hard, especially soiling carpets or bedding, will result in cleaning or replacement charges.
  12. Your booking is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
  13. We do not accept liability for any omissions or errors and reserve the right at any time to change information published on the site.
  14. Any complaint about the booking service must be notified to Burpham Country House in writing or by email as soon as possible.

    Any complaint regarding the hotel must be brought to the attention of the hotel management as early as possible during your stay and, if not resolved to your satisfaction, should be notified in writing. We reserve the right to change your booking to an equivalent or upgraded room, should your specified room become unavailable. All property and valuables remain your responsibility whilst in the hotel.
  15. You warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. All bookings are personal to you and may not be sold, assigned or otherwise transferred.
  16. We do need to collect identity information from foreign visitors,and you should ensure that you can fulfil our legal requirements by producing such information where required.

|Privacy Policy

  1. Personal information collected from you is used to fulfil your request for services or to send you confirmation details and if necessary to inform you of updates or changes to your travel plans. We will also send you an initial newsletter from which you may unsubscribe.
  2. We use Secure Socket Layers (SSL) to ensure the privacy of the information provided to us and at no time are your debit/credit card details transmitted unencrypted over the Internet.
  3. We do not modify, copy, distribute, license, sell or redistribute any of your personal file information.
