Arundel is the historic heart of the South Downs. Dominated by the 11th Century Norman Castle and Roman Catholic Cathedral which side by side, high on a hilltop dominating the view for miles. Arundel is full of quaint narrow streets, specialist shops and a wide variety of restaurants and cafes. The River Arun winds its way through the town and visitors can enjoy the river by hiring motor boats on the river or row boats on Swanbourne Lake situated in Arundel Park, 1000 acres of beautiful parkland.
